Sharon Crean spoke to our Club a few years ago about the BeyondWater project (www.beyondwater.global) she helped to establish, which focuses on water and sanitation projects across East Africa.  Because of Rotary's support, they have been able to help well over 100,000 people.  On important focus of this programme is their school health education days, once toilets, water tanks and gutterings have been installed.  The day includes games, songs, drama and the distribution of underwear, as well as teaching the importance of hand washing.  They work with families who earn on average $2.00 per day and buying their children underwear is low on their list of priorities.  Before they head back to Kenya in the coming months, they are reaching out to fellow Rotarians to support their Undercover Angels Project (video link HERE) in one of two ways, in the hope of distributing at least 1000 pairs of underwear to Kenya school children on their return:
  • Make a minimum $10.00 donation or
  • Buy a 5 pack of underwear (ages 5 – 15)
If you would like to make a monetary donation then please do so to the following account, including your name/Kenya as reference, so your donation can be easily reconciled:

Or you can drop of a packet of underwear (or more if you wish) Jacqui in the Rotary office, 8 Greydene Place, Takapuna.  Or you can make a direct donation to BeyondWater via the following link: https://makingadifference.gofundraise.com.au/page/buildawell
