Volunteers are being sought to look into the effects of aging, type 2 diabetes and exercise training on exercise capacity and heart function by the University of Auckland.  Volunteers need to be aged 35-80 years who are healthy or have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes between 6 months and 10 years ago.  Participation in this study will involve attending three, 2 hour testing sessions that will assess heart function and exercise capacity. For adults aged 50 years and older with and without type 2 diabetes, your heart function and exercise capacity will be reassessed after a 12 week exercise training programme. This study will increase our understanding of how type 2 diabetes affects heart function and exercise capacity with aging and in response to exercise training. If you are healthy or you have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and are interested in participating or would like further information, please contact:
