This Monday is our last meeting for the year. Thank you for your support of the Club throughout 2019. I am happy to report that we raised $21,500 funds from the WPPE Exhibition, which is our major fund raising project for the year. These funds will be contributed to the Club's commitment to our major Centenary Project - Give Every Child A Future. This was a great effort and every dollar counts in the cause to immunise children of the Pacific.
This weeks speaker is Roger King from Auckland City Mission. Thank you if you have already donated a Christmas gift to our collection for the ACM, if you would like to donate a present please bring it along to the Monday meeting.
Just as we break for the summer holiday we remind you that the first meeting of 2020 will be the week after Waitangi Day - Monday 10th February.
Our last speaker for this year is Roger King, the General Manager Corporate Services for the Auckland City Mission. Roger is a highly skilled and vastly experienced Commercial Manager with significant experience in influencing and leading performance improvement and culture change. We are also collecting gifts for the Auckland City Mission to give to children in need this Christmas and will be collecting them at Monday’s meeting (they do not need to be wrapped).
Our meeting this week was a bowls and bbq evening at the Auckland Bowling Club. Thanks to everyone who attended and congratulations to the two winning teams, as shown in the photos. Also, congratulations to Tarun for his incredible last two bowls of the evening. And a special thanks to Kaye Shannon, Lindy Esslemont, Andrew Aitken, Peter Lavelle and Denis Black in helping to organise everything from the bowling teams to the food.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Half Moon Bay, the Bangers to Bluff Car Rally is approximately 2500km travelling on ‘roads less travelled’, from 24 March to 4 April 2020. The cars (bangers) need to have cost less than $2000 and will drive from Half Moon Bay in Auckland, through to Bluff and then back to Invercargill, where they will be auctioned off. This event is now in its fifth year and the 12-day event raises funds for a number of charities. For more information go towww.bangerstobluff.co.nz or emailrod@cookes.net.nz
